Mariia-Luiza Filatova works mainly with oil painting. After the start of the full-scale invasion, the main subject of the artist’s works is the landscape of her native city of Zaporizhzhia, brought to the status of a symbol. In 2022 and 2023, the artist was in Japan for a long time at the AT ARTS art residency in the city of Azuchi, located in the Jogon-in temple, this experience confirms the meditativeness and tendency to simplify the form inherent in her works.

The SNRA residency program draws attention to the role of culture and art during the russian-Ukrainian war, aims to implement institutionally critical projects related to cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), development of artistic-cultural institutions.
