A lecture by Dana Brezhneva “Curatorial practices. Creating and building an exhibition. Experience of working with regional museums”

Dana Brezhneva, independent curator, researcher, member of the DeNeDe art initiative, co-founder of the NGO “Museum Open for Repair”. As part of the program of the residency, Dana Brezhneva will hold a lecture and discussion of her curatorial practices with everyone in the lecture hall of the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts. She will talk about creating exhibitions and working with artists in the municipal gallery, building expositions and peculiarities of working in regional museums, and share her thoughts on the prospects and opportunities for the development of the curatorial profession in wartime.

The SNRA residency program draws attention to the role of culture and art during the russian-Ukrainian war, aims to implement institutionally critical projects related to cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), development of artistic-cultural institutions. The educational program is created in partnership with the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts.

The SNRA residency program, the participation of Dana Brezhnieva & Natalka Diachenko and their project were implemented thanks to the grant support from The Académie des beaux-arts in Paris (French Academy of Fine Arts)
