“Warrior Art Archive” is a curatorial project that began in March 2022. Currently, three female curators are working on its formation – Olha Balashova, Halyna Hleba and Tetyana Lysun. The curators of the archive are focusing on works of visual art created and published on social networks by Ukrainian artists from February 24, 2022. “This archive reflects our collective psychodynamics in one of the most important periods in the modern history of Ukraine, which we still cannot fully understand,” – described it one of the curators, Olha Balashova. The project has a clear reference date for the works to be archived – the beginning of Russia’s full-scale attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022, when martial law was introduced in the country. The filling of the archive will end on the date of termination of this legally defined regime. Curators in dynamics monitor and document this artistic process, which has already turned into an artistic chronology of the acute phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
